What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text records placed on a device by a website. They can support security, remember settings and help measure how a service is used. Local storage is a browser feature that stores a small value for a particular site. Unlike a conventional cookie, a local-storage value is not automatically included with every web request.
In this policy, “storage” covers both technologies unless a distinction is necessary. Storage may be first-party, set for this domain, or third-party, set by another service included on a page.
Categories used on this site
| Category | Purpose | Typical duration | Choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Records the cookie selection, supports security and keeps core page functions available. | Until cleared or replaced by a later choice. | Used where necessary for the requested service. |
| Analytics | Would measure visits, page use, errors and broad technical performance in aggregated reports. | Depends on the measurement configuration and consent. | Requires permission where applicable. |
| Functional | Remembers optional display or interface preferences selected by the visitor. | Until cleared, replaced or no longer needed. | Optional. |
The consent banner stores a short value such as an acceptance, rejection or customised selection. That value prevents the banner from reappearing on every page. Functional storage is created only when an optional preference is selected. Advertising and cross-site behavioural profiling are not purposes of this website.
Analytics approach
Analytics storage is treated as non-essential. If measurement technology is added, it will be classified in the analytics category and controlled according to the consent requirements that apply to the visitor. Analytics information may include page paths, approximate location derived from network information, browser type, device category and interaction events. It should not be used to build advertising profiles through this site.
Rejecting non-essential storage does not prevent access to the editorial pages. A preference signal may still be retained so that the site can honour the rejection.
Managing your choice
The banner provides three options. “Accept All” permits the available optional categories. “Reject Non-Essential” limits storage to items needed for core functions and the record of that choice. “Preferences” opens controls for individual optional categories. A saved choice applies to the browser and device in which it was made.
To make the banner appear again, clear site data for jumbleopixelscabn.click in your browser and reload the page. Clearing data also removes stored functional preferences. If you use a different browser, device or private-browsing session, you may need to choose again.
Browser controls and opt-out
Most browsers allow you to inspect, block and delete cookies or local storage. Controls are generally found under privacy, security or site-data settings. You may be able to block all storage, block third-party cookies, clear records when the browser closes or remove data for one domain.
Blocking every form of storage may cause the consent banner to return because the browser cannot retain the choice. It may also prevent optional interface settings from persisting. Browser “Do Not Track” and global privacy signals are interpreted according to applicable legal requirements and the capabilities of the site’s services.
Third-party services
Hosting, security or embedded services may process technical requests needed to deliver a page. Where a third-party feature can set non-essential storage, it should be withheld until the relevant permission is obtained. External websites reached through links have their own cookies and policies. This policy does not control those sites.
Legal basis and further information
Essential storage is used where necessary to provide a service requested by the visitor or to support legitimate security functions. Optional storage relies on consent where UK privacy and electronic communications law requires it. Consent can be withdrawn by changing or clearing the stored choice.
